"Here From The Beginning"

We are thrilled to announce that "Here From The Beginning" will be travelling through Mississauga! This is an exhibition that is an inspiring tribute to the profound contributions of Black communities to The United Church of Canada.  On Saturday, March 21st, all are welcome to drop in anytime at Christ First (151 Lakeshore Road West, Port Credit) between 12-4pm to experience this groundbreaking exhibition. Created as an answer to the call of our 100th Anniversary celebrations last year, this visual display is now travelling across Canada, and aims to enable attendees to recall the history of the United Church through the perspectives of Black people, uncovering often-overlooked aspects of the church’s history and interpreting its legacy through a new lens.  Also available:  Complimentary sweets and refreshments, Opportunity to participate in an intergenerational art piece, Musical offering by André Brewster, local jazz artist who has toured and recorded with Canadian icons Matt Dusk, Kardinal Offishall, and Jully Black.  You don't want to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity!
