Covid-19 Info

by St. Stephens September 12, 2019
written by St. Stephens

Due to the restrictions in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, all St. Stephen’s on-the-Hill physical facilities have been closed.  However, the church is very much alive through a wide variety of virtual activities and services being delivered.  A virtual Sunday service is initiated every Sunday morning at 10:30 via Zoom.  Zoom coffee chats are held Fridays at 2:00.  There is a Hymn Sing at 2:00 on Wednesday afternoons.  Zoom enabled Memorial Services have also been held and can be arranged.

If you have any pastoral care needs or wish to be included in our virtual outreach; if you wish to link into the Sunday Zoom services, or weekday coffee chats or hymn sing, please contact Reverend Debra McGill, revdpmcgill@gmail.com , or leave a message at 905-278-9245 or send an email to ststephensuc@on.aibn.com.  There is also a mailbox beside the main door of the church (which is checked regularly).

Our church is a small organization with ongoing financial obligations.  Our main sources of income have been impacted by Covid-19.  We no longer receive in person donations at our Sunday services.  Our May garage sale is postponed and our rental income is nonexistent due to cancellations.  Please consider making an online donation here by using the “Donate Now” button below to help us through this difficult period.  Thank you very much.

Meet the Minister

Meet the Minister

Rev. Debra McGill

I was warmly welcomed to SSOTH January of 2019 having served in rural ministry for 14 years and in urban ministry for 7 years.
I believe we are in the “Age of the Spirit” and I look forward to accompanying others of all ages and stages in life on a spiritual journey of discovery: “who we are called to be” in this world where we are deeply concerned about environmental and social justice issues both locally and globally. I’m passionate about many things, creative worship, bible study, taizé and engaging with people as they share their stories.
I continue to look forward to meeting the folk of this community.

Verse of the Day

“Then he said to them all, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will save it.” — Luke 9:23-24 . Powered by BibleGateway.com.
